This Privacy Policy explains how Vet Setu (“Vet Setu”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and protects your information when you use the website vetsetu.com and its online test series (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Mobile number — used to create your account and log you in with a one-time password (OTP).
- Profile details — your name, email address, state and college, which you provide when completing your profile.
- Messages — the details you share when you contact us (name, mobile number, email and message).
Information created when you use the Service
- Test activity — your answers, time spent, marked-for-review flags, scores, accuracy, rank and attempt history.
- Orders and enrollments — the test series you enroll in, order and invoice numbers, amounts and payment status.
- Security data — IP address, browser/device information, login times and an identifier of your active session, used to enforce single-device access and prevent misuse.
Payment information
Payments are processed by our payment partners (such as Razorpay or PhonePe). Card, UPI and net-banking details are entered on the payment partner’s secure page and are not stored by Vet Setu. We only receive the payment reference, status and amount.
2. OTP login
We send a one-time password by SMS to verify your mobile number each time you log in. OTPs are stored only in encrypted (hashed) form, expire after a few minutes and are limited in the number of attempts. We never ask for your OTP over phone, WhatsApp or email — do not share it with anyone.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in on one device at a time.
- To give you access to the test series you enroll in and to run, save and resume your tests.
- To calculate your score and your rank among Vet Setu students, and to show you explanations.
- To process payments, issue receipts/invoices by email and handle refunds.
- To respond to your questions and send important service messages (for example, about your enrollment or a change to a test schedule).
- To detect and prevent fraud, content piracy and abuse of the Service.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Ranks and results
Your rank is calculated by comparing your score with other students who attempted the same test. Other students do not see your mobile number or contact details.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only to the extent they need it:
- SMS providers — to deliver OTPs to your mobile number.
- Payment gateways (Razorpay / PhonePe) — to process your payments and refunds.
- Email delivery provider — to send payment receipts and service emails.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to store data and serve the website securely.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of Vet Setu and its users.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, protect forms against forgery and remember your session. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. Data security and retention
We use HTTPS encryption, hashed OTPs, access controls and single-device sessions to protect your account. We keep your account, test and order records for as long as your account is active and as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes. You may ask us to delete your account; some records (such as paid invoices) may be retained where the law requires it.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your profile details from your account.
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete your account.
- You can stop using the Service at any time.
9. Students under 18
The Service is intended for veterinary students and graduates preparing for competitive examinations. If you are under 18, please use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
